The event featured distinguished guest Prof. Achim Rettberg, from Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. An expert in Human-Machine Interface technologies for embedded systems, Professor Rettberg addressed the integration of Artificial Intelligence into safety-critical systems, discussing cloud-edge architectures, certification challenges, and the GAIA-X4AGEDA project.

Prof. Rettberg’s visit was encouraged and facilitated by Prof. Márcio Kreutz, Co-Advisor of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter at UFRN. This event is a key activity of the IES Hub in Natal, further establishing the city as a strategic point for high-level technological discussion. With an audience of over 50 participants, the activity served as a vital platform to showcase the IEEE IES Chapter’s initiatives to the entire university community, demonstrating the group’s impact and the opportunities it provides to UFRN students.
