The Hubs & Nodes Brazil — Integration and Action Planning Session was organized to strengthen connections among IEEE Industrial Electronics Society communities in Brazil and create a shared space for collaboration, visibility, networking, and strategic planning. The workshop was held in conjunction with the 3rd IEEE IES SYP Congress.
The session brought together representatives from Hubs & Nodes Brazil, IEEE IES Student Branch Chapters, students, Young Professionals, volunteers, academics, industry representatives, and IEEE/IES leadership. Through presentations and collaborative discussions, participants shared ongoing activities across the Brazilian network, exchanged experiences, identified opportunities for cooperation, and discussed priorities for future initiatives.
A total of 32 participants attended the activity, with strong representation from the academic community. Participants represented UFRN, UFSM, UTFPR, UFS, UnB, UFRR, UFAM, UFMT, CEFET/RJ, UFMG, UFSC, and IFRN, demonstrating the broad institutional and geographic reach of the initiative.
The session also included industry participation through Reiron Lopes Stellantis, contributing an important industry perspective to the discussions and reinforcing the connection between academia, professional practice, and the IEEE IES community.
A central objective of the session was to connect local activities with the broader IEEE IES community. Representatives of the Nodes and Student Branch Chapters had the opportunity to showcase their initiatives, achievements, challenges, and plans, while IEEE and IES leaders provided perspectives on international programmes, opportunities, and Society priorities.
During the coffee break, the workshop also featured a Student Branch Chapter Poster Exhibition, providing participating SBCs with an additional opportunity to showcase their activities, projects, achievements, and initiatives. The poster session created an informal environment for networking, knowledge exchange, and direct interaction among chapter representatives, students, Young Professionals, academics, industry representatives, and IEEE IES leaders.
The programme concluded with a collaborative planning session focused on defining concrete actions for Hubs & Nodes Brazil in 2026, helping transform the discussions, connections, and ideas developed during the event into coordinated follow-up activities.
